Voyager Pendant/Ornament

When NASA prepared to launch their two Voyager space probes in 1977, they asked Carl Sagan and others to design a phonograph record to carry the sounds and images of life and culture on Earth to the depths of space where, hopefully, another advanced spacefaring civilization might find it. (It’s an LP and runs about 60 minutes.) This image, the golden record cover, is the instructions on how to play it, plus a pulsar map to show where in the cosmos it came from, i.e., Earth.

This is a unique hand-formed and hand-painted ceramic “Voyager” necklace/ornament made exclusively for CFI by Amy Davis Roth. The pendant appears black in some photos, but is really a super-shiny antiqued gold glaze with black highlights to replicate the golden Voyager records.

The round pendant is approx. 1.75" in diameter and comes with both an 18" super soft black faux suede cord to wear as a necklace as well as a golden hook to hang as a tree ornament. Each pendant is stamped on the back for authenticity so you know you're getting an original, high quality, artist made, design. For more designs, please visit surlyramics.com.

Each pendant is made by hand so some variation will occur. The design will be the same as seen here, but your pendant will not look exactly like these pictures. Instead, you will have a unique, one-of-a-kind piece of jewelry!
